How does the Virtual Gotcha Lobby work?
It's actually quite simple.
After entering the lobby there are a few things you can do:
- You can chat with other people in the Lobby Room (The room you enter after you start).

You can join a game:
- Select one of the active games (if there aren't any, click "Refresh list" until there are)
- Click "Join gameroom"
- You now enter a gameroom and should be able to see the other players in that gameroom. (if you get an error the gameroom is propably full, or the game has allready started)
- Wait for the 'host' (the person who started the gameroom), to click "Play Game". (Meanwhile you can chat with the other people in that gameroom)

You can host a game:
- Click "Make gameroom"
- Wait for players to enter your gameroom
- Click "Play game" when there are at least 2 players in your gameroom
The game doesn't work!
I got an error that says that it is missing some DLL or something
- You haven't installed DirectX 8.0 or higher
I get a 'connection failed', why is that?
- You or one of the other players is behind a proxy-server or firewall.
- The host has a very slow connection, or slow computer.
I get an 'Acces violation in module WTWMPLUG.AX...' (screenshot)
- You have the 'Wild Tangent plugin' for WinAMP installed. (bikini-babes dancing to your mp3-music). For Virtual Gotcha 2 to work this plugin needs to be un-installed. Virtual Gotcha will not function even when it's not active.
To un-install: go to configurationscreen, go to software, select Wild Tangent, click un-install, select Wild Tangent Updater, click un-install.
I get an 'access violation in Virtualgotcha.exe', why is that?
- Check for the latest patch here.
Can I?
Can I play the game without a lobby?
- Yes.
- Instead of running VirtualGotcha.exe run vrgotcha.exe.
- If your not able to connect to other players, you can still take a look and play alone.
- If you run Gotcha without the lobby, your scores are not counted.
Can I play the game if I'm behind an firewall or proxy?
- No
- Only if all of the other players are behind the same firewall or proxy.
- Firewalls should be shut down to play Virtual Gotcha, or at least the port 2234 and port 47624 (both for UDP and TCP). If there is one person in a game thats behind a firewall or proxy, none of the others can play.
- If you're behind a proxy, and you have acces to it. You should forward the ports 2234 and 47624 (both for UDP and TCP) to your machine. (only for experts).
Can I play the if I have no soundcard?
- Yes, the bug that caused an error was fixed in Lobby v1.1.
Performance
Why does the game run so slow?

You're machine is slow, or you have a slow internet-connection.

Change your settings to low-performance.
Go to "start-menu",
Go to "programs",
Go to "Virtual Gotcha 2",
Go to "Virtual Gotcha 2 Configuration".
Select "Light - Low Quality". Click "OK" and run Virtual Gotcha 2.
